Amanda Slater

Maintenance Team Assistant

Amy handles the ins and outs of Vaayu Aero Maintenance’s vast number of orders and receivables every day. Amy also keeps track of customer invoices as well as the day-to-day expenditures of the company. With a background in the medical and veterinary sciences, she pulls her awesome organization and management skills from her work as a Veterinary Assistant as well as a veterinary Oncology Client Care Coordinator.

Bill Cassel

Director of Maintenance

Bill has over 50 years of working in aviation maintenance. He served US Air Force as a C-130 mechanic and crew chief. After the service, Bill has worked on aircraft ranging from airliners to small experimental aircraft. He particularly enjoys working in general aviation and helping owners maintain their aircraft to high safety standards!

John Bonilla

Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Rating

With 12 years of experience in the general aviation field, John has worked on a variety of Cessna 150 to 210 models, Citation 550’s, Piper J3 through PA-31 models, Beechcraft-Bonanzas, Barons, Dukes, as well as Air Tractor AT301 through AT802’s. Initially starting as a mechanic with Nissan, John has honed his long-standing passion and skill for mechanical systems through working on both cars and aircraft.

Matthew Chitwood

Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Rating

Matt has over 7 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic, having worked on both military and civilian aircraft, as well as electric motors and generators. He is a veteran of the United States marine Corps , where he regularly overhauled, repaired, inspected, and troubleshot components of large turbo-prop engines, transmissions, as well as various internal systems during his time in service.

Shruti Arumbakkam

Assistant Technician

Shruti is our in-house assistant, and helps around the hangar with mainly 50-hour, 100-hour, and annual inspections on AAA aircraft and other customer aircraft. She has a degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, but enjoys the hands-on experience of working on airplanes!

Aaron Fargher

Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Rating with Inspection Authorization (IA), Commercial Pilot Certificate w/ Single/Multi-Engine Instrument Rating, CFI Rating

With over 10 years of experience as an aircraft mechanic,Aaron first worked on C-130’s as part of the Air National Guard in the United States Air Force, before transitioning to general aviation maintenance in 2014, where he performed maintenance on a fleet of Cirrus SR-22’s, Piper Warriors, Archers, and Arrows.

Mike Sanders

Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Rating with Inspection Authorization (IA)

After serving in the United States Air Force as a dog handler and a part of Security Forces, Mike got his A&P license with President's Honors from St. Philip's College in San Antonio and started working as a professional aircraft mechanic in 2013. Mike combines his ability in mechanical and fluid systems with an understanding and passion for avionics.
